Saving a Spot for the Truck
The City sells temporary “No Parking” signs so you can hold curb space for a moving truck. Buy and pick them up at the Cashier’s desk on the first floor of City Hall, 455 N Rexford Drive, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. There is a per-sign fee. Here is what the City asks:
- Get at least two signs per address. The City recommends two to three for a truck smaller than an 18-wheeler.
- Post them in front of your address no less than 72 hours before the move. Each sign is good for one day.
- After posting, call the Police Department at 310-550-4875.
Live north of Santa Monica Boulevard? Good news. The City says residential moves there do not require the signs.
Move Hours and Street Sweeping
The City limits residential moves to 8 am to 6 pm, daily. Commercial moves may be limited to Sundays, depending on the location. The signs do not override street sweeping, red zones or loading zones. Residential streets are swept once a week, so check the sign on your block before you pick a day.
Overnight Parking and Storage Containers
Beverly Hills prohibits overnight street parking from 2:30 am to 5 am, and the City does not allow storage crates, PODS or shipping containers in the street overnight. Short on parking for your own car? The City offers overnight parking permits to qualifying apartment, condo and duplex residents.
